Black Dot Cafe Gallery grew out of the Legendary Black Dot Cafe arts center, which was established by the Black Dot Artists Collective in a storefront in East Oakland in 1998.
Our current space in West Oakland which includes a stage and cafe is located in a storefront in the Pacific Cannery Lofts in the Village Bottoms Cultural District, which has become an arts mecca where innovative, forward-thinking artists from the African diaspora community produce, show, and share visual, literary, and performing arts with people from all walks of life.
The Gallery is a non-profit space available for private rentals for exhibits and other events.
